Spring/Summer Necklaces

New Spring/Summer Necklaces

Here are some photos of the newest style necklaces I've been working on this past month.  All made of polymer clay with appliques of flowers and other little designs on each bead.  That's one of the things I love about polymer clay beads.  No matter how many beads you use to create a necklace, they are all so light you hardly even know you're wearing one.

All available now at my Etsy Shop - Polymer Panache: Click here.

A Note To My Followers and Anyone who Leaves a Comment

Evidently your comments are not showing up on this blog.  I've tried to get help from blogspot but so far nothing is working.  However, I can still read your comments behind-the-scenes so to speak, they just don't show on this blog page.  I hope you continue to leave comments as they always give me a "boost" even though no one else can read them.
Thanks,
Pat

New Cinco De Mayo Jewelry

My newest jewelry creations were made with Cinco De Mayo in mind.  It will be here sooner than you think!  All the necklaces are made by hand of polymer clay and can be seen at my Etsy shop, Polymer Panache. Click here
The large discs are polymer clay and all the little adornments are also made of polymer clay and placed one by one by hand.  The rest of the necklace consists of small glass beads in colors that compliment the discs.

This necklace is made of individual small pinched petals in all the colors of the rainbow.  Great look for Cinco de Mayo.

Seahorse Necklaces

Seahorse jewelry seems to be catching on lately.  I've made quite a few and most of them have sold.  One customer liked it so much she commissioned another similar necklace with a "funky" fish focal bead instead of the seahorse.

These seahorses are hand sculpted of polymer clay, adorned with crystals and pearls, antiqued and finished off with a satin glaze for a soft shine.  Then they are strung on professional grade beading wire with semi-precious stone chips and I add a beautiful gold tone metal leaf toggle clasp.  Each one is so unique, you'll never see anyone else wearing the same necklace.

This Green Seahorse Necklace is still available.

I'll be making more of these necklaces this week.

They would be great at the seashore or your favorite vacation resort.  Click here.

More Pastel Colors

After I finished with all the petals, I made another Rainbow necklace of round beads in pastels for the summer.  Those round beads are so hard to get absolutely round.  It takes a lot of practice.  Here is the result.

The beads are graduated from the large beads in front to the smaller beads at the back with small white glass pearls in between.  Would be pretty for the summer and the necklace is so light weight!

More Petal Necklaces

I had such great response to the multi-color petal necklace I recently made, I decided to do a few in pastel colors for the summer.   Then I got carried away with the petals.........

These rainbow necklaces are all available at my Polymer Panache Etsy shop: Click here

Rainbow petal necklace

Made one of these multicolor petal necklaces last spring and it sold so fast I decided to create another one today.

It has over 120 individual clay petals and is 22 in. long.  Can't get much more colorful than this.  A great necklace for Cinco de Mayo celebration.

Learned a new technique.

I saw a beautiful necklace a few years ago at a local jewelry shop at Pier Village in Long Branch (on the boardwalk).  It appeared to be crocheted wire with black and white beads crocheted into the necklace.  Recently I came across a YouTube video showing instructions how to make this type of necklace.  At first it was a little difficult but, as you work on it, it gets easier.  Here is my first crocheted necklace:

This necklace is made up of white pearls, aqua crystals and aqua glass twist beads on gold wire with a pretty clasp.  It is a three strand necklace braided together.  Came out really nice.

Here is my second crocheted necklace in browns:

This one has large tan glass pearls, smaller chocolate pearls, small gold crystals and larger beige button crystals, again 3 gold wire strands braided together.  They can both be seen at my Etsy shop: Polymer Panache.  https://www.etsy.com/listing/123836870/statement-necklace-crocheted-tan

Polymer Necklaces I Just Finished .......

Just completed these two necklaces with round PC beads and lots of small glass beads for sparkle.  Think they will be nice for spring/summer.

I find it's always hard to get perfectly round beads for the necklaces.  But I guess that gives them that unique handcrafted look.

Getting Back to Work.........

Tried to learn how to create beads and pendants as shown in Julie Picarello's book "Patterns in Polymer - Imprint & Accent Bead Techniques" (Great book).  I found my PC blades were not sharp enough for this new technique.  I did manage to make a few pieces with the duller blades but am not all that happy with them.

Ordered some new tissue blades and will try again to make some of the gorgeous designs Julie has in her fantastic book.

I'm Back..............

Well I haven't posted for quite awhile.  First there was Hurricane Sandy which flooded our apartment building first floor and left several tenants with no where to sleep.  The parking lot also felt the wrath of Sandy and 16 cars were ruined, including ours.

The 1st floor tenants were taken in by other tenants and everything was a mess for a good while.  No electric for 9 days and all food was thrown out but we didn't receive any help from FEMA for cost of food replacement.

My hubby and I spent the month of November looking for a used car we could afford and filling out FEMA papers.   No help from FEMA there either.  But I know there were so many at the Jersey Shore who were much worse off than we were, so I'm not complaining.

Then we got the news that my 43 year old nephew was diagnosed with cancer.  We were devastated.  But with the car we just bought we are able to take him back and forth for his treatments.  So far the news is good -- considerable shrinkage of the tumor.  Waiting to find out about the surgery he will probably have to have.

Not much free time to create jewelry.

Lariat Necklaces

After making dozens of Lucite flower earrings I decided to make some Lariat necklaces using the same flowers.  These lariat style necklaces are so easy to wear and so light weight too.  Just bring the chain around the neck to the front and tie a loop.  No clasps to bother with.  They are now available at my Etsy Shop:

Polymer Clay Necklaces

Some new polymer clay designs now in my Etsy shop:

This necklace was created in shades of peach and aqua with pearls and crushed crystals.  The clay beads are connected with ribbons.
This style was inspired by Christi Friesen, polymer artist of California.
This is my own design of polymer clay discs with little clay dots connected to a black chain and toggle clasp.

New Summer Necklaces

Here are some new pieces of jewelry that I created this summer.  Have been kept busy with sales at Oceanport Gardens, the ladies really like the conservative styles.

Another Great Artist on Etsy

While searching Etsy for artists I found this great animal/bird artist Cathy McGovern from St. Louis.  I'm amazed at her ability to reproduce those fine details of each animal or bird with such accuracy.  To see more of Cathy's art work click here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/SmallTownTraditions?ref=top_trail
