New Artist Design T-shirt Contest

I recently received a request from an artist regarding her entry in a design contest for t-shirts.   Could you take a minute to click on the link and vote for her design?

" I submitted my XO painting in an H&M art contest, I would really like to be in the top 25.
I need as many votes I can get, so I am asking if you can please go to this link www.yourarthere.com/entry/xo/ and click one of the stars, there are 1-5 stars, 5 star would be FANTASTIC.
If I make it in the top 25, 5 will be chosen by judges and there artwork will be printed on t-shirts and sold at select H&M stores all over the country and also will be installed in the H&M store window on 42nd St and 5th Ave where it will be on display . I really reallyyyyyy want this opportunity, so can you please vote. Thank you so much for your time"

Jewelry with an Ocean/Seacoast Theme

Last week my jewelry was accepted to be sold at the Coastal Cottage Boutique in my town.  They have lots of items with a shabby chic/seacoast theme including furniture, handpainted signs and lots of things for the home or for gifts.  Now they have my line of jewelry too.  They did a nice job of the display of the jewelry with lots of light so it can be seen.  They placed it on their counter so customers can see it when they pay for an item.

Here are a few pics.

Mother's Day Sale at Oceanport Gardens, N. J.

I had my first Mother's Day jewelry show at Oceanport Gardens in New Jersey.  This is a senior citizen residence and I had my doubts about doing a jewelry sale for seniors.  I thought  jewelry would be the last item on their budget but I was pleasantly surprised.  I had more sales from these lovely ladies than I ever had with local craft shows.

I started taking a few photos when the show first started but then got so busy I wasn't able to take more.
Here are just a few of the women looking at the jewelry at the beginning of the sale.

They liked the jewelry so much they invited me back for another sale in November just in time for Christmas shopping.

Sale on Leopard and Tiger Earrings

Having a sale this week on Leopard and Tiger print glass earrings.  If you love the big cats you'll love these.  Only $7.00.

Beautiful watercolors of animals

Here are some examples of another Etsy artist's watercolors.

"I paint to be happy. I get grumpy after a few days of not painting. Sometimes I get so busy that I forget how happy they make me. I mope around for a while and think, "What's wrong?" Then it dawns on me..."Oh, yeah, I haven't painted in awhile." -- Rachelle Levingston

Colorful Acrylic Paintings on Etsy by Matt Hamblen (Mattsart)

I love finding new artists on Etsy and there are so many of them.  But this artist is one of my favorites.

"I'm a lifelong artist, and a painter for about 20 years. I've been online since 1999.

My work is exclusively in acrylics. I'm obsessed with the drive to create, as I come from an artistic family tree. Many in my family are creative types, and Dad is still painting to this day.

My art is simply about making people happy, as that's all I've ever wanted to do in life."   Matt Hamblen

Just look at these gorgeous colors!

Polka Dots Mean Springtime

I'm always happy when I see polka dot clothing or accessories in the shops because I know spring cannot be far away.  Here are two of my new Polka Dot Necklaces all made of Polymer Clay. (No paint was used.)

What fun I had putting all those little white clay dots on the beads!

The black and white necklace has perky polka dot ribbon bows attached at the sides.

Chunky Necklaces

I love making these chunky necklaces.  It seems the sky-is-the-limit when I'm creating these beauties.

I sold the first tan and green necklace, but I made a second similar one which I've just listed on my Etsy shop along with another necklace in purples and greys with a touch of hot pink.

I have all different color combinations running through the brain for future necklaces.  Keeps me up at night to the point where I can't get to sleep 'til the wee  hours.  I guess other crafters and artists have the same problem.

Another New Necklace

This necklace was inspired by Ronna Weltman's book "Ancient Modern".  It is very chunky and all the beads are hand made by me.  The beads are attached to a copper chain and toggle clasp in the back.

This was a lot of fun to make as every bead is different and has a lot of texture.  Your imagination knows no bounds once you get started with this necklace.
This necklace is available at my etsy shop:

Busy Working With Polymer Clay

Have really been concentrating on polymer clay jewelry for my second etsy shop, "Polymer Panache". http://www.etsy.com/shop/polymerpanache

Here is a necklace and earrings set I've just finished and posted in my etsy shop.  I call them Red Hot Faux Lava.  They have a lot of texture and are a real lipstick red with silver spacer beads.

New Single Strand Pinch Petal Necklaces

After much debate I decided that I couldn't put up the double strand pinch petal necklace for sale at the price I felt it deserved.  There is a lot of work in creating that necklace.  So I took them apart and am now listing them in my Etsy shop (Polymer Panache) as two separate single strand necklaces, one in aqua and the other in coral.  And some women might not want such an elaborate style.

They still are very pretty necklaces even though they are single strand.

New Tropical Necklace - Polymer Clay

Have been working on a beautiful necklace inspired by Maggie Maggio and Lindly Haunani's new book:  Polymer Clay Color Inspirations. It's not in my Polymer Panache Etsy Shop as yet.  Waiting for a Sterling Clasp I ordered.

The necklace took many hours to complete.  All those little flower petals to cut and bake.

Fraidy Cat Creations: I Love My Cat Pendant polymer clay

Fraidy Cat Creations: I Love My Cat Pendant polymer clay

I Love My Cat Pendant polymer clay

I've just finished working on a pendant for cat lovers.  This pendant of polymer clay says I (heart) My Cat and is framed in a soft green clay.  I added several small flowers and leaves.  The back is gold clay.
I hope some cat lovers will take a look at this adoreable pendant. http://www.fraidycatcreations.etsy.com

A little cat's eye bead dangles from the bottom of the pendant.

Cleopatra style necklace in gold polymer clay.

Here is a new necklace I've just completed for my new Etsy shop: Polymer Panache.  This one took several hours to complete but I like the way it turned out.  It has lots of texture and a nice shine.

And it has a pretty antique gold metal leaf clasp.

My New Second Etsy Shop

I haven't blogged lately due to making jewelry with a different look and starting up a new Etsy Shop to feature it.  My new shop is called Polymer Panache.
http://www.etsy.com/shop/PolymerPanache?ref=top_trail

I'm planning to create more jewelry with polymer clay and I've already posted a few of the new designs.  Of course, I will also be using some crystals and glass beads (love the glitter of crystals and glass) and have put a few of these up on the new shop too.  Some of these are made with black velvet beads as well.  Striking effect.

I'm aiming for a more dramatic effect in the necklaces I make.  Styles that women who want something different and who have the confidence to wear unusual styles will appreciate.

Here are a few of the new pieces.

Polymer clay textured blue and purple flat beads with an irridescent finish.

Polymer clay can be made to look at so many other materials.  This black necklace looks like black lava and the copper beads are also polymer clay dusted with copper powder and given a protective finish.

These black and white polymer clay beads are stylized, heavily textured leaves and red ceramic berries as accents.
